Victorian Family Business of the Year Awards 2007 and 2008
The Family Business of the Year Awards is held each year to recognise the substantial contribution of family business to the economy of Victoria.
It is also provides businesses with the ability to benchmark their performance against other family businesses. The Awards entry process encourages family businesses to examine their business performance as well as their approach to the delicate balance of family and business.
The Awards are presented to those businesses that demonstrate a commitment to family business best practice, good corporate citizenship and solid business performance. Each of these areas provides the criteria for judging entries.
The 3rd Generation Family Business of the Year is awarded in recognition of the period of business renewal.

Shave Human Resources (SHR) has, for its almost 48 years of continuous business, been a boutique generalist recruiter, meeting the needs of clients, irrespective of the industry, seniority of the position, or the vocational role. True to its roots, integrity is the primary guiding value of the business.
During the last 4 years, a long held goal has been reached. It has always seemed logical to provide smaller businesses with a Human Resources Management (HRM) service similar to the in-house facility provided by larger companies. In harmony with the axiomatic saying, "timing is everything in business", it has taken almost 25 years, from the time the idea was conceived, until the business climate was conducive to accepting the need for such a service. SHR currently provides outsourced HRM to a number of companies.
What do these awards mean?
We, at SHR, are justifiably proud to have been selected, as 3rd Generation Winners, 2 years in succession. This demonstrates our focus, on providing client satisfying services, continues to reward our integrity and family values.
Although SHR is considered to be a low charging business, the strength of our client relationships is rewarded with a 20% year on year increase in revenue, a 100% increase in EBT and an 80% annual return on invested capital.
We hope these awards add to the confidence clients and prospective clients can have in the personal, professional and responsible manner in which we serve.
